Final Product: B-Roll for the Home shopping network and an in-store video dvd for sales The process:
Pre-Meeting:
Fig met with Jill at Dyson to tour the company, discuss the purpose of each video, and to talk about the relationship Dyson and Fig would have throughout the production of the videos.
Preparation:
Fig and Dyson scouted locations to find the perfect home to shoot in. Jill put together a script of all of the different shots needed for the shoot and Fig created a timeline of shots needed for a one day shoot.
Day of shoot :
Fig provided producer, camera operator w/ steadicam, lighting director, grip, editor, grip, and intern the day of the shoot. Fig shot 3 products throughout the day in 4 different locations in one home. Fig used the kitchen, living room, stairway, and basement to shoot the different models in different locations. Fig brainstormed w/ Dyson to showcase the function of each device and highlight each selling point. Fig shot each product using a camera w/ tripod along with steadicam. Fig also edited on-site to give the client immediate feedback.
Editing for hsn :
Fig created a DVD of the best footage and sent to Dyson. Dyson choose the best shots and Fig created a b-roll piece that HSN could use for cutaways. Fig used online clips to complete the editing sessions and transferred all footage to beta for HSN. The footage aired several days throughout December and received great footage on the shots taken.
voice over :
Fig spent an afternoon in the studio recording voice over with the client for an In-store video that will launch nation wide. The voice over session captured each unique feature of each product.
Graphics :
(In production) Fig is creating motion graphics for the In-sture DVD to add to each video shot and title.
Feedback from the client:
"
We have been on the air twice already today and the b roll looks great. I have gotten a few compliments on the shots, especially the one on the stairs." -Jill Foldeneaur on HSN footage.
What's next:
Fig is working on new "secret" products for the launch of these in the beginning of 2007. Fig will be creating more HSN footage, In-store videos, as well as training products.
